Tom Idle Passes His Apprenticeship With Techbuyer

Having been with Techbuyer for over four years, we are extremely proud to announce that Tom Idle has passed his level 4 apprenticeship in network engineering! Tom has been a key member of our team ever since he arrived with us and so we are excited to celebrate this huge achievement with him.
Tom came to Techbuyer to undertake work experience and we were delighted when he could stay on to take up an apprenticeship with us. During his time, Tom has not only played an integral role in the business, but he has also been nominated for Yorkshire's Apprentice of the year in 2020, and completed his level 3 network engineering apprentice.
Our IT Director, Rich Kenny states that “we were really impressed by Tom’s maturity and attitude from day one when he came on work experience. He’s a guy who is diligent, tries hard, communicates well and people genuinely love working with him. He should be proud of what he’s achieved at Techbuyer because there isn’t a single person in the business who he hasn’t helped in some way, shape or form.”
Tom decided that the apprenticeship route, rather than university was the right decision for him. “It was a daunting decision at first,” Tom comments. “I had friends who were already at university and having a great time, and it’s the most common path to go down after sixth form or college. However, the more I thought about it the more I saw the financial downside of tuition fees and living away from home, and the real benefit of learning on the job. When I met Rich, our IT Director, and he offered me a position, it was perfect timing and everything came together for the best.”
We are excited to see Tom grow and develop further!
