Techbuyer's New Research Team Features in DCNN Magazine
Techbuyer has been featured in DCNN (Data Centre and Network News) magazine for our new research team. This research team are dedicated to investigating data centre efficiency and sustainability to develop new technology, methods and techniques to create a more sustainable industry.

DCNN is a British publication focussed on highlighting the industry news for data centres and networking around the UK. They publish news, research and updates from the data centre industry as a whole.

After a successful two-year research project with the University of East London, we decided to further our research within the data centre industry and work to investigate just how we can improve sustainability and efficiency.

Key Points:

  • Techbuyer has launched a new research team aiming to help the push towards net zero in the data centre industry. They will be investigating server environment and the effects this can have on server performance and energy draw.
  • The data centre is likely to grow 500% in the next 15 years, with internet traffic growing a further 220% in the next five years. These figures mean that it is essential to move the data centre sector towards sustainability and carbon neutrality in this time.
  • Buying and utilising refurbished equipment is an effective way for companies to create a more efficient and sustainable data centre or server room. Refurbished equipment saves on the mining of raw materials and manufacturing of new equipment, as well as preventing valuable equipment from making its way to landfill.
