Techbuyer is Sponsoring the Harrogate Climate Action Festival

Techbuyer is a refurbished IT specialist with sustainability at its core. So we jumped at the chance to sponsor the first Climate Action Festival being held by the Harrogate District Climate Change Coalition.

Taking centre stage at the Techbuyer stall is our very own IT hardware bike, Victoria Peddalton! Pop along on the day to see her in all her glory!

The Harrogate District Climate Change Coalition is an independent, collaborative group of companies and organisations that work together to promote and support the development of climate action in the Harrogate area. They are dedicated to reducing the release of greenhouses gases in and around Harrogate to help create a greener environment for everybody that works, lives and visits the area.

As a member of the coalition, we help to advocate the climate action message and aid the journey to net-zero for Harrogate. The coalition has launched the first Harrogate Climate Action Festival to help educate attendees on what they can do to help the cause and create a better environment for the local population.

The event is taking place at Harrogate College in Hornbeam Park on the 2nd of October and it is shaping up to be a day of fun and interesting activities designed to teach about the importance of climate action! Join us at the festival to learn about how refurbished devices helps to better the environment and what you can do with your technology to make a more eco-friendly IT industry as a whole.

Come along to view the green innovations on display, take part in the endless activities being held by local companies and organisations and get inspired by the fantastic ideas on climate action being discussed!

Techbuyer and Sustainability

Techbuyer offers sustainable IT solutions to companies and individuals globally in the fight to reduce e-waste, decrease the demand for critical raw materials and extend the lifespan of IT hardware. Our sustainability efforts are focused on keeping useful IT devices and critical raw materials out of landfill and in circulation. We do this by offering companies device upgrade services, to help extend the lifecycle of their devices, as well as providing environmentally responsible solutions for technology disposal. We also work to promote the environmental benefits of purchasing refurbished equipment in place of buying new devices to prevent useful tech from ending up in landfill.

With a zero-to-landfill policy, we ensure that 99% of the devices we receive are refurbished as either entire devices or as component options. Manufacturing technology is responsible for around 85% of a laptop or PCs entire carbon footprint throughout its entire life. By buying refurbished you are making use of devices already in circulation and therefore cause less harm to the environment.
