How Do We Estimate Carbon Savings? 

Our Sustainability team are really good at guessing and have massive brains....the end!  

Of course, in reality, it’s a little more complex than this. We use over 220 ‘life-cycle assessments’ of various devices, using the production (‘embodied’) emissions from these studies, we calculate an average for each device type and subtract the estimated refurbishment process emissions to give a carbon savings figure. This method of estimation is widely accepted and can be used as explainers in carbon accounting if companies choose to do so. 

What Can This Figure Be Used For? 

This figure can be used in sustainability reporting and marketing to quantify the positive environmental impact of taking a sustainable approach to IT disposal. It is an estimate of the embodied carbon reductions you have helped achieve by choosing refurbished.
