This 2GB Kingston server memory module is a dual rank, 667MHz PC2-5300 module with a 5333MB/s data rate, offering a great upgrade option to a wide variety of DDR2 compatible servers from big brands such as IBM, HP and more Kingston entered the computer memory market in 1987 and have since grown to be the world's largest independent manufacturer of memory products.
DDR2 memory offers a major performance improvement over DDR, increasing the prefetch length from 2 to 4 bits which doubles the rate at which data is transferred over the data bus. It also offers a drop in operating voltage from 2.5v to 1.9v-1.8v, markedly reducing the operating cost across multiple servers, with this particular model being a low power module running at 1.35V.
As well as featuring ECC (error-correcting code) which detects and corrects the most common kinds of internal data corruption, the pieces of memory that make up this Kingston server memory kit are also registered (also known as buffered) which encourages stability in the individual modules via the addition of a register between the DRAM modules, and therefore improves stability in the system as a whole.
