    The HP Smart Array P222 Controller is a low profile, 6 Gb/s, PCIe 3.0, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) RAID controller that provides entry-level, second generation storage performance for select HP ProLiant Gen8 rack and tower servers. With up to 3x performance improvement over past generations and support for up to 200 drives, this controller offers increased scalability for explosive growth.

    Advanced Storage Functionality

    This controller features four internal and four external SAS ports, providing advanced storage functionality for improved server uptime. It offers online RAID level migration with flash back write cache, global online spare, and pre-failure warning for enhanced data protection. Additionally, data compatibility between HP Smart Array Controllers allows for easy upgrades to future controllers.

    Long-Term Data Retention

    The HP Smart Array P222 Controller comes standard with 512MB flash back write cache (FBWC), allowing for long-term data retention. This feature, combined with support for RAID 0/1, 1+0, 5, 50 (and 6, 60 with upgrade), and new predictive spare activation, ensures improved rebuild and maximized uptime for your data.

    Easy Setup and Management

    With reduced initial setup time and a user-friendly interface, the HP Smart Array P222 Controller makes it easy for customers to protect their data. The Smart Array Advanced Pack 2.0 firmware offers advanced functionality, including RAID 1 ADM (Advanced Data Mirroring), for this next generation of Smart Array controllers.
