Techbuyer Wins Bronze at the Global Good Awards

We are thrilled to announce that Techbuyer has won Bronze in the Global Good SME category at this year’s Global Good Awards!

The Global Good Awards celebrate organizations of all sizes and the good that they are actively doing in their communities, for their people, for the planet and for their bottom line. This year’s awards, which recognized and rewarded change across all aspects of social impact and purpose-driven sustainability attracted more entries than ever before, with entries across all 17 categories increasing by 40 percent from last year.

In our category, we were up against HS1, Forster Communications, Hadley Property Group, Ian Snow, and Switch Packaging for the Global Good SME of the year. It’s safe to say it was an extremely competitive category! The entry process was rigorous and the judging was fully transparent, non-biased, with judges having zero commercial interest in the decisions made.

Winners of other categories included some big names such as Unilever (Covid Crisis Champion), ITV (Global Good Company of the Year), and KPMG (Sustainable Supply Chain of the Year).

We were recognized for our work delivering sustainable IT solutions on a global scale and for our commitment to establishing a circular IT economy and to improving the environment around us. Judges liked our ongoing initiatives focused on activating the circular economy, advocating for a sustainable future, and giving where we can make a positive impact.

Judges were impressed by our active participation in the CEDaCI project, where we share our knowledge that will ultimately help data center equipment become more circular and make cost-effective technology more accessible. The judges commented: “It is great to see the partnerships with research institutions, universities, committees- such as the local Climate Coalition in Harrogate, the CEDaCI, the Data Center Alliance’s Sustainability Special Interest Group, which demonstrates that Techbuyer is looking to influence the wider IT/tech industry.”  

Chairing the Data Center Alliance’s Sustainability Special Interest has given us the opportunity to contribute to the wider conversation in the data center sector, creating a pathway to introduce new standards for the sector and education measures within the industry. It is clear the judges were impressed by such initiatives and further commented: “Amazing work! I love the company’s clear goals, seeing your progress against them to date, and seeing how Techbuyer is working towards so many different initiatives.”
