Techbuyer wins gold, silver and bronze at this year’s IT World Awards

Rich Kenny, Techbuyer’s Group IT Director has won a Gold GLOBEE for ‘CTO of the Year: IT Hardware’ at the 2021 IT World Awards. Usually hosted in San Francisco, the awards recognise today’s leading IT professionals including Joan Trainor from IBM, Dr. James Smith from Webscale and Tyle McMullen from Fastly – who were all awarded GLOBEEs this year.

Rich was recognised for launching Interact, Techbuyer Group’s new start-up which optimises carbon load, energy efficiency and costs for data centre IT hardware. Just six months after launching, the start-up also took home a Silver GLOBEE for ‘IT Project of the Year’ and a Bronze GLOBEE for ‘Start-up of the Year’ at the IT World Awards.

  • Interact was launched in December 2020 following a two-year Knowledge Transfer Project (KTP) between Techbuyer and the University of East London.
