Storage designed to increase flexibility and usability

The ML350p Gen8 comes with an integrated HP Smart Array P420i/Zero Memory Controller providing enterprise class storage performance and data protection. The user has the option to upgrade to the HP Smart Array P420i/512M, P420i/1G or P420i/2G FBWC controller supporting 0/1/1+0/5/5+0/6/6+0 RAID levels. The HP ProLiant ML350p Gen8 can be built to a variety of small form factors or large form factors. Depending on the configuration, this server can support a maximum internal storage of up to 72TB (18x4TB) for LFF models and up to 28.8TB (24x1.2TB) for SFF models. The ML350p Gen8 supports hot swap drives, enabling you to upgrade, clean or replace drives without having to shut down the server, therefore minimising downtime.

With HP SmartStorage and the HP Smart Update Manager, you can also experience industry-leading firmware management and server storage. The ML350 Gen8 also delivers better management, faster deployment, as well as instant uptime tools due to the embedded HP ProActive Insight architecture with an Always-On Active Health System and the HP Lights-Out (iLO) Management Engine version 4. The Intel Xeon E5-2600 and E5-2600v2 series features Intel Virtualisation Technology allowing one hardware platform to function as multiple “virtual” platforms. Enhanced manageability limits downtime and maintains productivity by isolating computing activities into separate partitions.

DDR3 memory offers numerous improvements over its predecessor, such as its ability to transfer data at twice the rate and its prefetch length, which is also double that of DDR2 at 8 bits. It also offers reduced voltage from 1.8V-1.9V to 1.35V-1.5V, noticeably reducing the operating cost across multiple servers.
