The Cisco ASA 5520 features four Gigabit Ethernet interfaces and support for up to 100 VLANs, making it easy for businesses to deploy the appliance into multiple zones within their network. As your network security needs grow, the Cisco ASA 5520 can scale with your business, providing solid investment protection.

Enhanced VPN Capacity and Resiliency

Businesses can extend their SSL and IPsec VPN capacity to support a larger number of mobile workers, remote sites, and business partners. With an SSL VPN upgrade license, the Cisco ASA 5520 can support up to 750 SSL VPN peers, while the base platform can support 750 IPsec VPN peers. Additionally, the integrated VPN clustering and load-balancing capabilities of the Cisco ASA 5520 allow for increased capacity and resiliency, with support for up to 10 appliances in a cluster and a maximum of 7500 SSL VPN peers or 7500 IPsec VPN peers per cluster.

Advanced Security Features

The Cisco ASA 5520 offers advanced application-layer security and content security defenses, which can be further enhanced by deploying the high-performance intrusion prevention and worm mitigation capabilities of the AIP SSM or the comprehensive malware protection of the CSC SSM. With the optional security context capabilities, businesses can also deploy up to 20 virtual firewalls within a single appliance, providing compartmentalized control of security policies on a departmental level. This virtualization not only strengthens security but also reduces management and support costs by consolidating multiple security devices into one appliance.
