Techbuyer One of the First to Achieve New R2v3 Certification

Techbuyer is pleased to announce that we are just one of a handful of US companies to achieve the new R2v3 certification.

Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI) last year released the latest Sustainable Electronics Reuse and Recycling (R2) Standard which is known as R2v3. SERI is a Washington D.C. based organization that is committed to accelerating the development of responsible reuse and recycling. R2v3 has been described by SERI as a fully comprehensive industry standard for refurbished IT hardware vendors and recyclers. This standard is an important opportunity for businesses like Techbuyer to make positive contributions toward electronics sustainability.

R2v3 has been described as an updated R2 standard for an ever-changing world. It has been implemented to reflect the dynamic nature of the electronics industry, as to keep pace with the industry, best practices and standards must evolve as well. R2v3 brings together SERI industry experience and was designed to reflect the changes in customer demands, the electronics landscape, and the regulatory environment. For instance, the new standard has an increased emphasis on data protection, environmental health and safety requirements, and effectively managing the flow of materials through downstream sellers.

Chris Towers, Managing Director of Techbuyer USA commented: “It is hugely important that we have achieved the new R2v3 standard as it is more comprehensive, more reflective of the incredibly dynamic tech industry, and works even harder to protect data, people, and the planet – enabling us to set ourselves apart in the industry.

I am very proud of our fantastic team – their hard work and dedication has enabled us to become a global leader in refurbished IT equipment.”
