SpiceWorld 2021: The Topic up for Discussion

We have been shouting from the rooftops throughout the month about our upcoming discussion at the SpiceWorld 2021 Virtual event! Our presentation, and following live Q&A, are focussed around the topic of why 2nd hand is no longer 2nd best. We will be demonstrating the benefits of buying refurbished technology and proving that it is the optimal choice in the fight against the rising tides of e-waste that are produced globally every year.

One of the key topics that we will be discussing is the capability of 2nd hand IT hardware to perform as well as new when refurbished to a high quality and correctly configured.

Techbuyer undertook a 2 year study with the University of East London, beginning in 2019, to demonstrate the quality retention of IT components and devices and highlight the slow down of Moore's law.

In this study, we tested refurbished equipment against brand new, factory sealed devices. In all cases, refurbished performed as well as new and in some events even outperformed the new hardware, proving that refurbished IT equipment is as good as new in terms of performance.  You can read the full research paper here.

This study highlights the quality capabilities of 2nd hand technology through extensive research and testing; refurbished IT hardware performs as well as, or even better than, new devices with the correct component upgrades.

Because refurbished technology not only offers a more affordable option to businesses but is also capable of offering the same, if not better, performance as new hardware, it becomes a fantastic option to businesses globally. 2nd hand IT hardware helps to maximize the IT budgets of companies around the world and aid the creation of a circular IT economy.
