Bringing reuse into the mainstream is an important issue, especially in the IT industry. Doing can be complex, however, which is why we collaborate with leading experts and contribute to a number of research and industry projects.

Government Digital Sustainability Alliance

Techbuyer is a member of the GDSA, working alongside DEFRA, as well as other businesses in the industry, to inform government on sustainable IT best practice. We are a member of the Circular Economy Working Group.

Data Centre Alliance

The Data Centre Alliance exists to lead and promote best practice for the data centre sector. Techbuyer has been an active member since 2019, leading the publication of guides on sustainability and water usage.

University of Hull

Techbuyer partnered the University of Hull and Innovate UK on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership to develop the circular economy decision making tool Circul.8. We also have ongoing work developing papers and support with guest lectures and project hosting.

University of York School of Business and Society

The University of York School of business society is uniquely placed to lead business and public policy action to tackle complex social and environmental issues and deliver sustainable inclusive growth. Techbuyer regular hosts MSc project groups, supports hackathons and gives guest talks.

with Free ICT Europe

Free ICT Europe promotes circular IT. Our Sustainability Lead is a board member, and we support it to further reuse and improve legislation.

Sustainability Research Institute
at Leeds University

A leading institution for sustainability, the university has a specialist Research Institute and several dedicated courses. We’ve hosted PhD and MSc research projects and offered insights on various circular economy workshops.

CEDaCI

The CEDaCI project brought European experts together to promote circularity in the data centre sector. We work with CEDaCI to support research and network development.

ISEP is an organisation that provides training, guidance and certification for sustainability professionals worldwide.

We operate in accordance with ISEP standards as a sustainability training centre.
