For Ostara, supporting legacy equipment had its challenges, particularly when failures occurred. With invoices spanning several years for their IT hardware, when parts failed Ostara found it difficult to keep track of which equipment was still in support, and where warranties had expired, as well as the serial numbers of each device.

They also experienced a lot of back and forth – receiving quotes, placing orders, receiving parts and installing them – when parts did fail and need replacing. Overall, Ostara was experiencing more admin and supplier communications, as well as a slower process to replace or solve hardware faults when they occured.


The Solution

We worked with Ostara to deliver a comprehensive support solution designed to resolve any issues as and when they arise.

This included a hardware support contract for all devices within their estate, including cover for all related parts. All IT hardware now falls under a single support contract with accurate BOMs and serials logged. This means that when an emergency occurs, Ostara only needs to reference a single number and serial number.

The solution provided delivers Ostara a 4-hour parts to site SLA, ensuring that their systems get the parts that they need when they need them.

This has allowed Ostara to return to business-as-usual activities, including the continued development of their CAFM software solutions. Time is key for a business like Ostara, so any time spent outside of their software development – on systems maintenance or repair - is time not being spent continuing their excellent offering. Our comprehensive support contract takes this headache away, allowing their team to focus on their unique offering.
