    IBM x240 M5 Technology

    The IBM Flex System x240 M5 Compute Node is a high-performance server that offers new security, efficiency, and reliability features to handle business-critical workloads.

    Great performance combined with energy efficiency

    Up to two IntelTM E5-2600 v3 series processors, with a total of up to 18 cores and memory speeds of up to 2133 MHz, are supported by the Flex System x240 M5. These processors are engineered to give greater performance without compromising energy efficiency. This CPU family offers integrated PCIe 3.0, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, Hyper-Threading Technology, up to 45 MB of L3 cache per socket, and two QuickPath interconnects.

    Enhanced reliability and performance

    Support for TruDDR4 Memory is also brand-new, and unlike earlier modules that required 1.35 V and 1.5 V of power, it only needs 1.2 V. 24 DIMM (RDIMM/LRDIMM) slots allow for the deployment of up to 1.5 TB of memory with 64 GB LRDIMMs (768 GB of which are currently available), and fast memory bandwidth with the capacity to run at up to 2133 MHz. For reliability, performance, and maximum memory capacity, the TruDDR4 Memory range includes RDIMMs and LRDIMMs with sophisticated error correction. Furthermore, TruDDR4 Memory supports memory performance that is superior to industry norms. Dual 2.5-inch PCIe flash storage and mirrored SD cards for hypervisor are just two of the flexible, high-performance storage choices the x240 M5 provides.
