    Superior 10Gb/s Performance

    The Emulex 10GbE VFA II for IBM System x delivers line-rate 10Gb/s performance, thanks to its support for TCP/IP stateless offloads and TCP Chimney Offload. By reducing system processor utilization, TCP Chimney Offload not only improves system performance but also reduces overall power requirements.

    Network Convergence

    The Emulex 10GbE VFA II for IBM System x offers the option to support FCoE, enabling the convergence of Fibre Channel and Ethernet I/O. This allows data centers to reduce capital expenses by up to 30% for adapters and switches, and up to 80% for cables. Additionally, network convergence can reduce operational expenses by up to 40% for power and cooling. FCoE is fully compatible with existing Fibre Channel infrastructures, protecting investments in storage, switches, management applications, and administrative expertise.

    Optimized for Virtualization

    The Emulex 10GbE VFA II for IBM System x is designed to meet the demands of virtualized environments. Its enhanced virtual NIC (vNIC) function enables bidirectional bandwidth management, dynamic bandwidth allocation, and I/O convergence in a single solution. Each port on the adapter can support up to four vNICs, and it also supports Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) for optimized I/O performance for virtual machines (VMs).
