Overview
The Brocade 8Gb Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter for HP c-Class BladeSystem provides a new level of server connectivity through unmatched hardware capabilities and unique software features. It is designed to help organizations implement end-to-end services across next-generation data centers. Brocade FC HBAs are the only HBAs which support the Server Application Optimization (SAO) license to extend Brocade data center fabric technologies to the server infrastructure, thereby improving overall application performance and virtual machine scalability. SAO enables individual traffic flows to be specifically configured, prioritized, and optimized from end-to-end throughout the data center. SAO is enabled via software licensing on Brocade switches and directors, and is deployed along with Brocade FC HBAs to help IT organizations more easily manage true end-to-end SAN services across next-generation data centers.
Features
Optimize Server Virtualization
• Server Application Optimization (SAO) extends Quality of Service (QoS) and priority levels down to Virtual Machines (VMs) and applications
Performance
• I/O transfer rates with up to 500,000 IOPS per port at 8 Gb per second reduces response time of mission critical datacenter applications and backup time-windows
Management
• Fabric-based Boot LUN Discovery saves time and errors through automatic discovery of LUN information during zoning resulting in centralized, automatic configuration of the boot setup
