The HPE ProLiant DL580 Gen10 server supports a variety of storage controllers including S100i, E208i-p, E208e-p, P408i-p, P408e-p and P824i-p. HPE Gen10 Smart Array controllers are engineered to maximise server uptime while enabling flexibility for future business growth by providing exceptional performance and industry-leading data protection. This server only uses small form factor drive bays, supporting SATA HDD, SAS HDD, SATA SSD, SAS SSD and NVMe SSDs, able to be configured to a maximum of 734TB (48x15.3TB) with SAS SSDs. Hot swap solid state drives can be upgraded, cleaned or replaced without having to shut down the server, therefore minimising server downtime.

Two CPU slots support processors from the Intel Xeon Scalable series including 8200 / 6200 / 5200 / 8100 / 6100 / 5100 with up to 28 cores, 38.50MB of cache and 2.0GHZ to 3.9GHz per processor. Choose Gold 6143 or Platinum 8165 processors for core boosting technology, helping you to maximise the performance of all the cores whilst lowering core-based licencing costs. The Intel C621 chipset supports DDR4 memory. Intel virtualisation technology provides hardware assist to the virtualisation software able to minimise cost and complexity. Hyper-threading technology better utilises idle resources leading to greater throughput for certain important workloads and increased system performance. The Intel Xeon Scalable processor series supports some of the most demanding applications including cloud computing, analytics, artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and network transformation.

The server supports a maximum of 6TB of LRDIMM (48x128GB) running at 2933 MT/s or 3TB of RDIMM (48x64GB) running at 2666 MT/s. HPE SmartMemory is optimised for HPE servers and proves that memory has passed HPE’s strict qualification process, unlocking certain performance and high efficiency features.
