27th April 2019 marks Techbuyer’s 14th birthday! Founded in 2005, in Harrogate, UK, Techbuyer has since grown to become a global leader in the provision of new and quality refurbished server, storage and networking equipment. Since then, we have had some notable company milestones such as opening our seven international sites across Europe, USA and Asia Pacific, achieving ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001, winning numerous awards and featuring in the Telegraph’s Great British Business campaign on television.

April 2005 – Pinnacle Data founded by Kevin Towers in Harrogate, UK.

May 2009 – The official Pinnacle Data website is launched.

January 2014 – Pinnacle Data North America formed with the first site in Vancouver, Canada.

March 2016 – Pinnacle Data named as one of the fastest growing companies in the North of England by the Northern Tech Awards.

August 2016 – US company Memory Dogg acquired, and Vancouver site relocated to New Jersey.

October 2016 – UK site moved to 22,000 sq. ft. premises in Harrogate, UK.

November 2016 – Commercial and Public-Sector division established to start serving NHS Trusts, Universities, schools, councils and other public and private organisations. 

February 2017 – Second US premises opened in Rochester, Minnesota and is established as the sales and purchasing base for North America.

March 2017 – Company rebranded as Techbuyer. The new brand is announced and launched at Europe’s leading digital event, CEBIT.

April 2017 – Techbuyer Europe expands with premises opening in Goch, Germany.

August 2017 – New Jersey, USA site expands to 6,000 sq. ft. premises.

September 2017 – Techbuyer featured in the Parliamentary Review – a publication which aims to raise standards by showcasing best practice to the UK’s leading officials.

November 2017 – Techbuyer hires 100th member of staff.

December 2017 – ISO 9001 accreditation achieved demonstrating our commitment to quality products and services.

February 2018 – Techbuyer becomes a member of the Data Centre Alliance (DCA) - a not-for-profit trade association comprising of leaders and experts from across the data centre sector.

May 2018 – Techbuyer included in the Great British Business campaign with features in The Telegraph and on a TV advert.

July 2018 – ISO 14001 accreditation achieved demonstrating our commitment to developing environmentally responsible products and processes.

August 2018 – Techbuyer becomes Northern Powerhouse partners – a network of 140 business who believe in the economic potential of the North of England.

September 2018 – Techbuyer Asia Pacific formed with the first sales office in Auckland, New Zealand.

October 2018 – Techbuyer appears alongside the Prime Minister in the Parliamentary Review for the second year in a row.

November 2018 – ISO 27001 accreditation achieved demonstrating our commitment to information security best practices.

December 2018 – Techbuyer launches second site in Asia Pacific with a 1,200 sq ft warehouse and engineering facility in Melbourne, Australia.

December 2018 – 2018 marked the first year Techbuyer erased data from over 100,000 hard drives (125,429 to be exact!).

January 2019 – New Jersey, USA site expands to a 10,000 sq. ft. warehouse and engineering facility in West Deptford. 

February 2019 – Techbuyer opens seventh global site in Paris, France with a 4,800 sq ft warehouse and engineering facility as well as a sales and purchasing office. The global Techbuyer sales team now speaks seven languages.

February 2019 – Techbuyer ranked 102nd in the Sunday Times International Track 200 which ranks Britain’s mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales.

March 2019 – Techbuyer ranked 49th fastest growing tech company in the North by the Northern Tech Awards.
