Business to Consumer Returns Policy

This policy is only applicable when a Product that you require to return has been purchased with your status being a consumer (ie the Product has not been purchased on a business to business basis as explained in our terms and conditions which were available at the time at which you placed your Order).

Nothing in the requirements of this Policy override your statutory rights. The terms of this Policy are consistent with the rights of a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you are resident in a different territory to the United Kingdom, you may benefit from different consumer rights. Techbuyer confirms that it will also honour these terms to the extent they may differ from rights existing in the United Kingdom.

Please review and follow the requirements of this Policy in relation to any circumstances in which you wish to return a Product.

 

Prior Notification of Returns

Should you wish to return a Product(s) you are first requested to complete the Returns Form, available on the Techbuyer website here. You must initiate the return within 30 days of the date upon which you received the Product(s) that you wish to return to Techbuyer.

We are required under consumer law to draw attention to a standard information form confirming your wish to cancel the contract with Techbuyer. The form is available at [link to be inserted to the statutory form]. Completing this form does not provide all the information we request you provide in order to ensure that your return is validated and processed expeditiously by Techbuyer. We encourage you to use the Returns Form at the above link.

Accordingly, should you attempt to return a Product without first completing a Returns Form we do require as a minimum the Order Acceptance number you were quoted at the time the Order was placed and confirmation of the Serial Number of the Product. Should there be any discrepancy in the information provided we may be unable to process the return and refund your payment.

The following are Techbuyer-approved reasons for initiating a return that will be accepted (these will be applied consistently with your consumer rights):

  • Incorrectly ordered
  • Not compatible with existing equipment
  • Inoperable on arrival
  • You have changed your mind

In case of doubt, or if the reason for the return differs from those listed above, it is recommended that the you should check by contacting RMA@techbuyer.com before dispatching the Product(s). Techbuyer will always address return requests in compliance with consumer rights legislation.

Once the Returns Form has been completed or you have notified of your request to return a Product by other means, a member of our team will contact you with an Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Number and delivery address, after which the Product may be dispatched back to Techbuyer.

Any costs that you incur due to fault in or misdescription of a Product is the responsibility of Techbuyer. Any cost of returning the Product due to any other reason is your responsibility as a Consumer. We expect your handling of any Products you are returning to have been reasonable in all the circumstances and may reduce the refund we make accordingly where this is necessary.

 

Return Period

The return period referenced below is calculated from the actual delivery date of the Product(s) to be returned. The delivery date shall be assumed to be the date agreed as the date for delivery between Techbuyer and the relevant service provider. If delivery was actually made on a later date, you may be required to provide evidence to that effect. Techbuyer will act reasonably in considering circumstances of this kind.

Refer to the following table to understand when it is possible to effect a return and the time period within which the return to Techbuyer must be initiated.

The day after you receive your Products, or if delivered in separate packages, the day after the final package arrives 30 days

 

Please retain proof of despatch when returning Products in case the return is delayed for any reason.

 

Return Destination and Your Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that the correct item(s) are dispatched to Techbuyer. Returns should be dispatched via courier service and delivered to the address provided within business hours.

Please note that Techbuyer is unable to accept any returns attempted to be made in person.

You are requested to take reasonable care in packing the Product(s) appropriately, considering the nature and characteristics of the Product(s), to ensure that it is not damaged during dispatch and delivery. If an RMA number has been provided, the RMA number should be clearly visible on the Product’s packaging.

Techbuyer will not accept as a valid return:

  • Any new, factory sealed product that has been opened and is not faulty or damaged on arrival
  • Any product that has been specifically configured to the consumers unique specification, unless it is faulty or damaged on arrival
  • Any Products that are not within the return window provided by Techbuyer; and
  • Items that following verification by Techbuyer are not the Product(s) that have been approved by Techbuyer for return under the relevant RMA ie they have not been purchased from Techbuyer.

 

Refund Arrangements

Your refund will be processed following successful completion of the return process. The return will be made by crediting the debit or credit card or bank account used in the original purchase of the Product. We may reduce the amount of your refund to reflect any increased delivery costs you authorised Techbuyer to spend in providing expedited delivery. We may also deduct from your refund any costs incurred in restoring the Product returned to its sale condition if your handling and use of the Product is unreasonable in all the circumstances. This could, for example, including our time removing data from a Product you have returned.

 

If an incorrect item is returned or the Product is invalid for return.

Should Techbuyer receive from a Customer an item that is not identifiable as a Product supplied by Techbuyer or if supplied by Techbuyer but provided outside of the applicable period within which it may be returned, Techbuyer will notify the Customer of the circumstances and request instructions concerning return of the item to the Customer.

We will assist you in securing the return of the item concerned. We reserve the right to charge a return fee to cover the costs of carriage (including insurance) and will provide you with a quotation and request your confirmation of acceptance and payment against an invoice that will on your acceptance of the return costs be processed and provided to you by email.

Should you decline to have the Product returned or fail to respond to our notification of the costs for returning the Product within a period of one month this shall be taken as an authorisation that Techbuyer may dispose of the Product as it considers appropriate. Techbuyer has a policy of donating to charity any proceeds of sale raised through the disposal of a Product in accordance with this provision of the policy.

 

Data Privacy

It is your responsibility to remove any data (including personal data) from the Product prior to its return. Techbuyer will have no responsibility for any consequences arising due to any failure on your part to back up and/or remove data prior to return of the Product.
