It can function as a standalone core switch or as a lower-cost edge switch in a tiered storage network. With its auto-sensing ports, the switch supports backward compatibility with 1, 2, 4, and 8 Gbit/sec devices, making deployment simple and cost-effective. Additionally, the switch offers investment protection by allowing organizations to easily upgrade to 8 Gbit/sec SFPs in the future.

High Performance

The 8/24 SAN Switch delivers high performance with simultaneous wire-speed support for all ports, providing an aggregate bandwidth of up to 384 Gbit/sec full duplex. This ensures the highest performance available and offers complete backward and forward investment protection. The switch also simplifies SAN management by eliminating the need to map application performance requirements to port speeds.

High Scalability

With 16 enabled ports and support for "pay-as-you-grow" scalability up to 24 enabled ports, the 8/24 SAN Switch offers seamless server connectivity to multi-vendor fabric environments. This allows for a large number of servers to connect to a SAN fabric without increasing switch domain count. The switch also allows for up to eight ports to be combined to form a single logical ISL with a speed of up to 64 Gbit/sec (128 Gbit/sec full duplex), optimizing bandwidth utilization and load balancing.
