    SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity

    The 3Com® Switch 5500G-EI Expansion Module provides additional resilient, high-performance inter-workgroup or workgroup-to-backbone Gigabit Ethernet connections for the 3Com® Switch 5500G-EI family. This module features eight ports of high-performance Gigabit Ethernet switching with optional Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) transceivers, supporting both fiber and copper connections.

    Flexible Physical Media Connection

    The 3Com® Switch 5500G-EI Expansion Module uses industry-standard SFP modular transceivers (sold separately) to provide a flexible physical media connection. Simply insert the module into the expansion slot at the back of any model of the Switch 5500G-EI family to add eight ports of SFP-based Gigabit connectivity.

    Advanced Features

    The 3Com® Switch 5500G-EI Expansion Module supports a range of advanced features, including IEEE 802.3z, IEEE 802.3x, IEEE 802.1p, IEEE 802.1D, and IEEE 802.1Q. These features ensure high-performance and reliable connectivity for your network.
