Meet your exact business, workload and budget requirements with the DL380 Gen9 server

The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is one of the most popular 2U rack servers in the world. Supporting almost the entire E5-2600 v4 processor range, you can choose from a huge selection of CPUs to meet your exact business, workload and budget requirements. Equipped with 24 DIMM slots which can handle a massive 3TB and the ability to support a huge 184.32TB of SAS or SATA SSD, the DL380 Gen9 server is ideal for a huge variety of applications, from the largest enterprises to the most remote branch offices.

Minimise downtime with hot swap drives

Entry level models of the HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 server come with the embedded HPE Dynamic Smart Array B140i Controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 1+0, and RAID 5 without the need for a cache module. You can upgrade your RAID controller to the HPE Flexible Smart Array P440ar/2G, the P840/4G FIO Controller, or the HPE Flexible Smart Array P840/2GB FIO Controller. The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 Server can support SAS, SATA, SAS SSD or NVMe PCIe SSD’s. Depending on the configuration, this server can support a huge 397.8TB (26x15.3TB SAS SSD) of storage in small form factor (2.5 inch) models, or 180TB (15x12TB of SAS or SATA) in large form factor (3.5 inch) models. Hot swap hard drives minimise downtime by eradicating the need to power down a server when it comes to upgrading or replacing hard drives.

Maintain productivity and security with CPU technology from Intel

The HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9 supports up to two E5-2600 v3 or v4 processors with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, or 22 cores and up to 45MB of cache per processor. Intel Virtualisation Technology enables one hardware platform to function as multiple “virtual” platforms. It offers improved manageability by limiting downtime and maintaining productivity and security by isolating computing activities into separate partitions. Hyper-threading technology better utilises idle resources leading to greater throughput for certain important workloads and increased system performance. The Intel Xeon E5 processor family is designed for architecting next-generation data centres and delivering versatility across diverse workloads in the data centre or cloud.

Energy efficient DDR4 HPE SmartMemory

Equipped with 24 DIMM slots, the DL380 Gen9 server supports up to 3TB of LRDIMM (24x128GB at 2400 MHz) or 768GB or RDIMM (24x32GB at 2400MHz). Advanced ECC memory protection uses technology to detect and correct single and multibit errors that can occur within a single DRAM chip. HPE SmartMemory is the optimal choice for HPE servers as it authenticates whether memory has passed HPE’s rigorous qualification and test process, enabling certain performance and high efficiency features. DDR4 brings 50% more bandwidth than DDR3 and is 40% more energy efficient than its predecessor, running at 1.2V-1.4V.
