Techbuyer Runners Up at the 2019 Computing Security Awards

Last week, we attended the annual Computing Security Awards at the Leoanardo Royal Hotel in London, which celebrated the most original and secure practices in the IT industry. It was a night to remember meeting new and old friends, with speeches and awards presentations from comedian, Sean Collins and former England cricket captain, Chris Cowdrey.

We were nominated for ‘Secure Data Erasure Company of the Year’ due to our specialist ITAD (Information Technology Asset Disposition) service, which utilises the industry’s most certified data erasure software from WhiteCanyon in order to fully data sanitise data centre equipment. Due to growing customer demand, Techbuyer has recently opened a new 10,000 sq. ft. dedicated ITAD facility. With ADISA certification that only 40 out of 600 ITAD companies in the UK have achieved, 24-hour CCTV surveillance and security checks for all staff, Techbuyer’s ITAD service provides data protection that businesses can depend on.

Danny McShane, Head of ITAD at Techbuyer, and Rich Kenny, Group IT Director attended the event and enjoyed meeting the other nominees. They even sat next to our friends from ADISA, who were Silver Sponsors of the CS Awards and won the ‘Compliance Award’ on the night.
