Stuck In the Lift with... Aiden Danson, UK Goods Out Team Leader

Originally from Derby, Aiden spent six years of his life in Wales and 10 years in Brazil before moving back to Harrogate where he leads Techbuyer’s Goods Out team, who process up to 270 orders every day! Read on to find out more about Aiden…

Where did you grow up? I’m originally from Derby. However, I was only there for the first couple of years of my life. We soon moved to Wales when my Dad opened a pony trekking centre. I reckon I spent about six years in Wales before moving to Harrogate where I spent my teenage years. At the age of around 22, I made a big decision in my life to move to Brazil, I spent 10 years there before deciding to move back to Harrogate again.

What's your first memory? When I was five or six years old, I got thrown off the back of a horse. This put me off horse riding and I have never got back on one since.

What did you want to be when growing up? I wanted to be a police officer. When I left school, I was actually really keen to join the military police but unfortunately, I was not tall enough.

How long have you been at Techbuyer? I have been at Techbuyer for five and a half years (possibly closer to six).

What are your primary roles at Techbuyer? I currently manage the Goods Out department, who are responsible for picking, checking, dispatching and boxing all daily orders received. We are currently averaging between 240 – 270 orders processed a day!

Favourite memory at Techbuyer? This is a tough one which unfortunately I will struggle to answer. I have had lots of great times over my years spent with Techbuyer, I’m also sure there will be many more to come.

Where did you working previously? Previously to Techbuyer, I was working in Brazil. Two of my Brazilian friends and I had our own little business specialising in car and truck security. Things went well for a few years but in the end, things didn’t work out.

What were your first impressions of Techbuyer? Techbuyer was small back when I started based in a little warehouse. It was very relaxed and fun but at the same time, everyone put the hard work in.

What is your favourite thing to do out of work? I really enjoy video games (occasionally playing the Forza series competitively). I also love films and hard rock/ heavy metal music.

Tell us something we don't know about you... Sometimes when I get home from work I will put some music on (quite loud) and I just nod off, this is quite surprising considering the music I listen to. Must be getting old.
