Stuck in the Lift with… Nadia Bounhar, Purchasing Executive

Growing up in a small village in Scotland, Nadia could never have dreamed that she would ever know how to wipe a hard drive or build a server. However, 6 months into her Techbuyer journey, she’s spending £100k a month on IT equipment and part of a fantastic global team of purchasing executives.

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Kyle of Lochalsh, a village on the Northwest coast of Scotland although you wouldn’t know because apparently, I don’t have a Scottish accent.

What did you want to be when growing up? I always wanted to work with animals. I’d be lying if I said I dreamed of growing up and starting a career in buying servers, storage and networking…

How long have you been at Techbuyer? 6 glorious months!

What are your primary roles at Techbuyer? I work in the purchasing team and together we spend over £2.4million a month on sourcing top quality new and refurbished server, storage and networking equipment. Whether it’s a hard drive that stopped being manufactured 10 years ago, or the world’s most advanced GPU, whatever our customers are looking for, I’ll find it and buy it!

Favourite memory at Techbuyer? This month I reached a new PB, I bought £100K worth of equipment!

What were your first impressions of Techbuyer? I spent my first 3 weeks in the warehouse learning everything from how to data wipe, how to build a server and about all the different components we buy and sell and how they all work together. It was fascinating, and I never ever thought I would know all the stuff about IT and data centre equipment that I know now.

Tell us something we don’t know about you… I’m half Moroccan (my Dad’s side) and I have over 65 cousins in Morocco and Madrid…
