A Colourful Donation to Martin House Hospice

Techbuyer played Easter Bunny with a difference last Thursday by dropping a collection of arts and crafts equipment at Martin House Hospice in Boston Spa.

The donation, which included canvases, ceramic and textile paints, coloured card, stickers, pompoms and pipe cleaners, will be put to great use over Easter as well as the coming weeks.

Martin House provides family-led care and support for children and young people with life-limiting conditions. The materials will be used by the children and their brothers and sisters in Art Therapy to create pieces together.

Staff explained how vital it is for families to have calm, meaningful time together, especially at a point when their lives can be very busy with hospital visits.

“Arts and crafts are really important because it’s about the children and their siblings coming together, playing, getting messy, having giggles and creating memories,” explained Jason Costello, Corporate & Events Manager for Martin House. “By doing a piece together, the family can take home something that lasts a lifetime.”

Techbuyer staff Will Clough and Astrid Wynne, who delivered the donation, said how happy they were to see the donation to go to such a good cause.

“The original idea was to donate some Easter eggs for the children, but this is so much better. It’s great to think about families having fun and enjoying their time together,” said Astrid.
